Canadiana Modernist

canadiana modernist

This home was all about functionality and mixing old with new to establish a strong Italian Modernist feel. The dining chairs are a vintage find and were originally manufactured and designed in Victoria decades ago. It was very important to play up the high contrast with a very neutral palette to frame the beauty in the landscape around the home.

The Canadiana Modernist house focused heavily on curating a unique collection of artwork. The home boasts an eclecctic portfolio of original artwork, artifacts from travels, heirlooms and antiques, such as the French etching above the art table from the year 1697. Sculpture was an integral part of creating a rare texture of furniture, object, and space.
